MSX supplies to Britain’s biggest and newest cruise ship

It weighs in at 141,000 tons, measures longer than the height of the Eiffel Tower and can accommodate more people than the Royal Albert Hall…meet MSX’s latest customer, Britannia.

The travel retail specialist has been appointed to supply a selection of beers and gins to Britain’s biggest and newest cruise ship, helping passengers to sample UK products no matter where they are in the world.

Britannia, which can accommodate 3,647 passengers, was officially named by The Queen on March 10 and set sail on its maiden voyage just a few days later. The P&O Cruises ship features 27 places to eat and drink, as well as a state-of-the-art cookery school backed by the likes of James Martin and Marco Pierre White.

The gins MSX is listing on board Britannia are:

  • Langley’s No.8 Gin
  • The Botanist Islay Dry Gin
  • Tanqueray
  • Hendrick’s
  • Chase Seville Orange Gin

The company is also supplying 30 British bottled beers including:

  • Wight Knight – from Island Brewery on the Isle of Wight
  • Innis and Gunn Rum Finish – produced in Edinburgh
  • Old Thumper – produced by Ringwood Brewery in Hampshire
  • Titanic Quarter Beer – from the Hilden Brewing Company in Belfast

MSX managing director, Nicola Ridges-Jones, said: “It is an absolute honour to count Britannia among our customers. Supplying to cruise ships is a specialist job, with the turnaround times at port being so tight, but we have built a real specialism in this over the last 41 years and we’re proud that our previous work for P&O Cruises has resulted in us being appointed.”
